The Port Alberni Port Authority (PAPA) is seeking quoted proposals for a maintenance dredge at Clutesi Haven Marina at the mouth of Kitsuksis Creek.
Background:
Clutesi Haven Marina is a recreational marina placed where the Somass River meets Kitsuksis Creek. Kitsuksis Creek constantly is introducing fine debris and silt into the marina basin which prohibits vessels from accessing berths.
Method:
Silt and/or debris are to be removed by excavator with long boom, crane with clam shell or by utilising suction from a mini-barge and deposited at the designated spoil site as shown in Figure 1. The proponent is responsible for ensuring the perimeter of the spoil site is bermed, removing the silt and/or debris from the spoil site on a timely basis to a site of their choice.
Proponent to Include:
- Extraction of approximately 1000 cubic yards of silt / debris and disposal.
- All costs included
PAPA to Include:
- Environmental Monitor.
- Submittal of Notification to Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
Closing Date:
Proposals to be submitted no later than January 24, 2025, 4:00pm, and the project to be completed prior to
February 15, 2025 as per the Department of Fisheries and Ocean’s timing window.
